Dispute Resolution
Whether disputes occur within the management team, across department lines, or among key members of the general workforce, the conflict can represent a substantial loss in productivity. The Kolbe Company offers several levels of dispute resolution as alternatives to difficult personnel actions and costly litigation. Using a mediation model, The Kolbe Company consultants have helped bring resolution to many seemingly intractable situations.
Typically, our mediators utilize the following standard pattern in confidential dispute resolution conferences:- Outline ground rules, time frame, and goals for the mediation.
- The parties, in turn, will explain their version of the situation.
- The parties will assess the effects the dispute is having on their work and the productivity of others in the organization.
- The parties will explore the consequences of failure in order to come to a mutually agreeable solution.
- The parties will describe their interests and needs.
- We will brainstorm alternative solutions that will meet the expressed needs focusing on specific behaviors, procedures, and organizational issues.
- The parties will select the most workable solutions from the alternatives generated and will commit to them in writing.
- Specific follow-up meetings will be agreed to and scheduled (if necessary).
